Zero Carbon At Scale: Updates from a Volume Approach to Zero Carbon Certification

To sustain our hope for the future, our environmental goals must be aggressive, innovative, and scalable. When Customer Relationship Management software leader Salesforce announced they would seek volume ILFI Zero Carbon Certification for their future major offices, they demonstrated that the large companies we desperately need to step up can provide exactly that leadership.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
  • Learn how Salesforce is building the platform to deliver on their Zero Carbon commitment, using their global design standard to organize their approach, and diving into a collaborative initiative to fill an industry gap in embodied carbon measurement for tenant improvement projects.
  • Understand the requirements and goals of ILFI Zero Carbon Certification.
  • Discover how an international technology company is laying a platform to pursue this certification as a volume program rather than a one-off experiment.
  • Hear how a set of global design standards can support volume sustainability programs in general, and reduced-carbon programs specifically.
  • Learn about a new approach to embodied carbon measurement in tenant improvement projects, which the industry currently lacks consensus on how to calculate.
